A Little Resume About Me
Dr. M. Marian Mustoe
Thank you for viewing this page. Really! Thank you!
My Other Art Work:
I was a trial artist while visiting Phoenix, Arizona for the Don Bowles Murder Trial in 1977. This was
a mean thing to draw. It was my first exposure to this kind of
drawing and my work was on television news.
In 1979 I produced a commemorative poster for the 50th anniversary
of the Cascade Tunnel.
A limited edition was run, the original resides in the North Central
Washington Museum in Wenatchee, Washington and a copy was sealed
in the time capsule at t he east portal of the Tunnel in the Cascade
Mountains. See it here: The Cascade Tunnel.
I designed the Texas A&M Geography Department Flag Logo
for a Space Shuttle
flight in the 1990s. I completed my Ph.D. there working in the
geography department and in education. Also while at A&M,
I produced a poster for the Geography Institute on Children's Literature of
the Southwest.
I am also interested in custom artistic box design. I produce
large scale boxes
about 3 by 3 feet. With your wood
burned images.
Some Information
on my Latent Chilhood Art. "LatchArt®"
is what I call it for short.
Since the completion of the Weather poster
I have built my own colouring
board which works much better as a base than simply cardboard. It helps me organize my
colour crayons. I also bought a light for the board which makes
it so much easier to see the work. This art work is the result
of a series of investigations that has gone on for over ten years.
It has focused on components of Object Relation Theory,
children's literature, art and music. More on LatchArt methods
is coming up so stay tuned for that eh.
Music
I have been active in the music business for quite some time. I am a published
songwriter, a member of BMI and I have won two awards in the Nashville
Song Festival for folk music. I have performed my music for both
presidents of a major university and the United States and for
the most part these days I work with a wonderful record label
in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sunshine Records. I have worked with many
great musicians over the years, had a little success on the radio
in North American and abroad, but the greatest honours came in
2001. In 2001
my song, The Four In the Okanogan, was performed as a part of
the memorial service at the Yakima SunDome for the four USDA forest fire fighters who lost their lives
in the 30 Mile fire. A LatchArt poster will be available soon
on this event.
My primary position is that of a geography professor at University
in Eastern Oregon. My research interests include:
audio
(technology) applications in education, radio emergency communications, and perceptual issues in landscapes.
About LatchArt ®, coming soon.
Thank you for reading, thank you for listening.
